DRACoI was registered as a non-profit in 2012. It is based in the Greek island of Ikaria, in the village of Katafygi, and at its heart lies a partnership between locals and scholars. Since the beginning of this journey, our work has been about collaborating, sharing, translating knowledge across communities aiming to contribute to the empowerment and resilience of local communities, to good science and good social policy. During our journey, we have collaborated with researchers and research networks, sister-NGOs and Universities, supported for each of our endeavours by the people of Ikaria and local associations.
