Our history

DRACoI was registered as a non-profit in 2012. It is based in the Greek island of Ikaria, in the village of Katafygi, and at its heart lies a partnership between locals and scholars.

Vision and Aims

We envision a world of resilient communities that are able to sustain, mend, regenerate and celebrate their local environments, livelihoods and community wellbeing.

Ethical principles

We are bound by the principles of good scientific practice and by the humanistic values of human dignity and social justice.

Action-Orientated

We create projects which are meaningful for communities and action-orientated towards empowering communities to build ecological and cultural resilience.
