Who are we
We come from all walks of life and represent different educational backgrounds, professions and skills. We are workers, farmers, teachers. students and scholars. We understand the urgency of the need to build climate resilience in mountain communities, where the effects of global warming are already/will be felt the hardest. We understand that people have deep knowledge of their environments, places and communities and a wealth of cultural experience in combating desertification, soil erosion and deforestation -the main ecological challenges facing mountain communities historically. Hence, our belief that local knowledge coupled with good science are essential for empowering communities to build climate resilience. Hence our work on creating the conditions for an equal exchange between locals and researchers and our work on translating knowledge across sectors.
